Volleyball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Wilkes-Barre and Abington Heights squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Wilkes-Barre had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Loss or not, Wilkes-Barre got some senior leadership from Jordany Rodriguez and Josue Canrinma Chimborazo. Rodriguez had 21 digs, 12 kills, and one block, while Canrinma Chimborazo had 29 digs and one assist. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 18 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tijan Njai, who had 29 assists and eight digs.

Wilkes-Barre's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12-2. As for Abington Heights, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Wilkes-Barre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Abington Heights, they have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Delaware Valley on the 29th.
