Upperman had won three straight on the road, but on Saturday they bumped up to 9-10 to make it four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Lenoir City Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Bees, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Upperman's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Green, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Lenoir City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Lenoir City's side, Steven Abercrombie was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Abercrombie is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Conner Turpin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Upperman has already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Boyd-Buchanan on the 4th. As for Lenoir City, they will square off against Eagleton College & Career Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
