Volleyball Recap: Providence Pioneers vs. Warsaw Tigers

Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Warsaw Tigers. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16, 21-25, 25-20.

Hadley Hasselbring paced Providence's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hasselbring got some help from Rylie Neal and her 29 assists. Hasselbring was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

It was another big night for Ellie Hepler, who had 31 digs and nine aces for Warsaw. Hepler has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last 12 times she's played. Olivia Rooney was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Warsaw, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence will face off against DuPont Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Warsaw, they will challenge Homestead at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
