Softball Recap: Mascoma Takes a Loss

Mascoma fell victim to Hopkinton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Hawks. The Royals have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mascoma's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Hopkinton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Mascoma will head out to face off against Newfound Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.38 runs per game on average), something the Royals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hopkinton, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bishop Brady at 4:00 p.m.
