Softball Game Preview: Stone Ridge Christian Knights vs. Mariposa County Grizzlies

The Stone Ridge Christian Knights will square off against the Mariposa County Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Stone Ridge Christian lost 7-1 to Le Grand on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mariposa County entered their tilt with Waterford on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won 11 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Taylor Krull, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Kallie Wass was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Mariposa County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .421 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Mariposa County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Stone Ridge Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
