Washburn had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Shead Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory.

Blake King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
