League recap: Wardlaw Academy tops Carolina Academy to extend winning streak

SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012

Wardlaw Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week by beating Carolina Academy, 60-30. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Patriots.

Wardlaw Academy took down the Bobcats 60-30 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Clarendon Hall's dynamic duo of Mason Miles and Tilton McCrae proved tough for Faith Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Miles threw for 51 yards and one touchdown and McCrae had 40 yards receiving. Daniel Pappas helped Clarendon Hall's passing attack out by catching one ball for 17 yards.

Joseph Hubbard was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 261 yards as Greenwood Christian defeated the Knights. Noah Hinzman also contributed to the rushing game with 72 yards on the ground.

King Academy's Alex Berry and Caleb Fulmer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Berry has thrown for 1323 yards this season, while Fulmer, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 21 catches for 451 yards. The Hawks' Hubbard leads the league in rushing yards with 1352.

The marquee game in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Clarendon Hall and Jackson Academy. Casey Connors' team enters the contest ranked 12th in the state, while the Confederates ranks 22nd.

Cheyenne Bodie of the the Knights is only 52 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 104 carries Bodie has accumulated 948 yard this year.

Richard Winn Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 69 points on Pee Dee Academy.
