Basketball Recap: Fillmore Central Takes a Loss

Fillmore Central played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Douglas County West Falcon, falling 62-40. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas County West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Strong, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 20 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Strong a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ella Wiese, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Fillmore Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Douglas County West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Fillmore Central and Elmwood-Murdock will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Elmwood-Murdock will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Fillmore Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Douglas County West, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Conestoga at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
