Baseball Recap: Veritas Prep Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Veritas Prep rose to the challenge on Saturday. They skirted past Fountain Hills 8-6. The victory was nothing new for Veritas Prep as they're now sitting on six straight.

Mason Bushard was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jack Mason was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Veritas Prep pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Fountain Hills, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 16-7-1 record.

Coming up, Veritas Prep will challenge Phoenix Christian on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. Fountain Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
