Basketball Recap: Winooski Takes a Loss

Winooski was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Williamstown Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-49 back in January.

Leading Williamstown to victory were Evan Bailey and Nick Mascitti. Bailey posted 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Mascitti dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Bailey's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Keeton Hull was another key player, putting up eight points.

Winooski's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Williamstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Winooski has already played their next match (against Mt. Abraham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Williamstown, they will square off against Blue Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blue Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
