Basketball Game Preview: Richwoods Knights vs. Normal West Wildcats

The Richwoods Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Normal West Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richwoods knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Normal West likes a good challenge.

Richwoods is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Champaign Central just ended the team's five-game winning streak dating back to last season on Thursday. They took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maroons. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Normal West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 52-27 to St. Joseph-Ogden. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Richwoods' defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1. As for Normal West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Richwoods beat Normal West 58-47 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richwoods since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
