Baseball Recap: Evangel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Evangel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They came up short against the Haughton Buccaneers, falling 15-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 last Tuesday.

Evangel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Haughton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian Academy will host Captain Shreve at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Haughton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northwood at 5:00 p.m. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
