Volleyball Game Preview: Ottawa Pirates vs. Kaneland Knights

The Ottawa Pirates will square off against the Kaneland Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kaneland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ottawa, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Ottawa turned things around against Rochelle on Tuesday. They skirted past the Hubs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since September 13th.

Ottawa had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-19.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Kaneland and LaSalle-Peru, and LaSalle-Peru kept the tradition alive. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12.

Kaneland's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Ottawa, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-13-2.
