Holton and Perry-Lecompton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will head out to square off against the Kaws at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Holton is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Holton didn't have quite enough to beat Sabetha and fell 5-4.

Holton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Zeller, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Zeller has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Perry-Lecompton came up short against Lawrence Free State on Friday, falling 11-3.

Perry-Lecompton's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Holton, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-8.

Perry-Lecompton's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Holton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Perry-Lecompton, though, as they've been averaging only 1.8 strikeouts. Will Holton keep running through batters, or will the Kaws buck the trend?

Holton came out on top in a nail-biter against Perry-Lecompton when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
