Baseball Recap: Brush's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Brush's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Liberty Common Eagles. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Beetdiggers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Keeton Jilek made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brush is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Jilek was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Malachi Thiel was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was River Hodgeson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
