Basketball Recap: Arise Takes a Loss

Arise extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the Griffin Academy Griffins 95-26. Arise was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Griffin Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

As for Griffin Academy, their record now sits at 4-7. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Griffin Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrien Thomas, who posted 31 points. With that strong performance, Thomas is now averaging an impressive 16.7 points per game. Ashton Bonifaco was another key player, putting up 26 points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arise will host AIMS College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Griffin Academy, they will welcome Latitude at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
