Softball Recap: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Ravenna Ravens

Cloverleaf extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-10 in the process. They lost 10-1 to the Ravenna Ravens. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ravens apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Ravenna, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Sterba got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while Holmes got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Holmes a new career-high. Madison Morris also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cloverleaf will square off against Field at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Colts surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ravenna, they are taking a road trip to take on Firestone at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
