Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Somerset Academy - Canyons walked away with it. They never let the Eagles onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. Somerset Academy - Canyons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine games by three goals or more this season.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Denali Swift and
Demario Chambers, who scored all three of Somerset Academy - Canyons' goals. The pair have combined for a total of 17 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Gulliver Prep put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on Cardinal Gibbons with a sharp 3-0 win. Give Gulliver Prep's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Somerset Academy - Canyons is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-4 record this season. As for Gulliver Prep, their win bumped their record up to 21-0-1.
