Baseball Recap: South Hills Drops Season-High Score on Ayala

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Hills). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Ayala Bulldogs 5-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Joseph Moreno looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ayden Vieth was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Victor Merlos also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

South Hills now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ayala, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

South Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 win against Colony on the 14th. As for Ayala, they have also already played their next game, a 9-1 victory against Chino Hills on the 14th.
