Soccer Game Preview: Banneker vs. Dutchtown

The Banneker Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Dutchtown Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Banneker comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Banneker's offense. They came up short against Newnan on Friday, falling 18-0. While losing is never fun, Banneker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Newnan are ranked 136th).

Meanwhile, Dutchtown kept a clean sheet against Langston Hughes on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-0 victory. Savannah Callaway was a massive factor in the win as she booted in six goals all by herself.

The win made it two in a row for Dutchtown and bumps their season record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Banneker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
