Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Muir). They blew past the Pasadena Bulldogs 18-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Gianna (GiGi) Butler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eriel Wallace, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel (Shorty) Flores, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Muir always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Muir's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-9. As for Pasadena, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Looking ahead, Muir will head out on the road to face off against Sierra Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Pasadena does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
