Baseball Recap: Copley Comes Up Short

Copley was the 9-7 winner over Cuyahoga Falls when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black Tigers on Monday.

Jack Yurechko put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Yurechko wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Stitsinger, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Copley's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-11.

While Copley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
