Basketball Recap: Sparks Comes Up Short

Sparks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 81-44 loss at the hands of the Wooster Colts. That's two games in a row now that the Railroaders have lost by exactly 37 points.

When it comes to explaining why Sparks lost, don't look at Eli Flores. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 17 en route to 25 points and three steals. Flores continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Castillo-Rodriguez, who posted eight points.

Fernando Cisneros went supernova for Wooster, going 8 for 17 on his way to 22 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnie Pullum, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points and six steals.

Sparks' defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Wooster, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season.

Sparks has already played their next game, a 63-28 loss against North Valleys on the 24th. As for Wooster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-42 victory against Truckee on the 24th.
