Basketball Recap: Declo Comes Up Short

Declo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the West Side Pirates, falling 43-23. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-30 last Friday.

West Side was led to victory by Bentley Cundick and Miley Cundick. Bentley dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals, while Miley dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Bentley is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Harley Nielsen, who posted six points and five steals.

Declo's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for West Side, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-15 record this season.

Declo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Side, they will face off against Malad at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Malad will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something West Side surely won't give up without a fight.
