Baseball Game Preview: Clyde Bulldogs vs. Blanco Panthers

For the second straight game, Clyde will face off against Blanco. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. Clyde will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Clyde is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Blanco.

Sterling Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Hagan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Landon Deal was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Clyde pushed their record up to 18-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Blanco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10-1.
