Baseball Recap: Western Hills Comes Up Short

Western Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Frankfort Panthers, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Tuesday.

Western Hills saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asher Gatewood, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Western Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Frankfort, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Western Hills will take on Robertson County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.19 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Frankfort, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Jessamine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
