Football Recap: Scranton Falls Short of Williamsport in the Playoffs

Scranton and Williamsport squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Scranton had to settle for second. They were dealt a 43-16 loss at the hands of the Millionaires. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Tevin Williams produced another solid effort rushing for 183 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, while also throwing for 144 yards and one touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes for Williamsport. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 96 yards. Lucas Naughton was another key player, picking up 95 receiving yards and one score.

Scranton's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Williamsport, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Scranton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamsport, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilkes-Barre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Williams and JAKE HOWE.
