Volleyball Preview: Father Lopez Green Wave vs. Matanzas Pirates

The Father Lopez Green Wave will venture away from home to challenge the Matanzas Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Father Lopez is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Father Lopez lost 3-0 to University on Monday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-20.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Laura Bernal, who had three digs and 29 assists. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Father Lopez's record is now 8-5. As for Matanzas, their record now sits at 8-11.

Father Lopez beat Matanzas 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2021. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Matanzas' Sydney Moses, who had 32 digs.
