Baseball Recap: Cloverdale Takes a Loss

Cloverdale lost against West Vigo back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Clovers came up short against the Vikings, falling 10-4. The Clovers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cloverdale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Duncan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Grayson Grimes also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for West Vigo, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Coming up, Cloverdale will square off against South Putnam at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Clovers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Vigo, they will challenge Greencastle at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tiger Cubs have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
