Basketball Recap: Columbia Capitals vs. Fairfield Central Griffins

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fairfield Central Griffins. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Capitals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-47 back in November of 2024.

Rashawn Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fairfield Central, going 6 of 13 en route to 20 points along with five assists and five boards. Thomas Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Fairfield Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
