Softball Recap: Science Hill Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Science Hill extended their winning streak to ten on Thursday, bumping them up to 22-7. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones, sneaking past 11-9. That's two games straight that the Hilltoppers have won by exactly two runs.

Isabel Meeks made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Ainsley Craft was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Kyleigh Metcalf was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Science Hill lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

As for Elizabethton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 1st.

On Elizabethton's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was SADIE WILLIAMS, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Science Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elizabethton, they will square off against Volunteer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Cyclones' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
