Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Beats ALA - Anthem South for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Heritage Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the ALA - Anthem South Titans. The Heroes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight runs or more this season.

Sieana Soltero made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Heritage Academy got a massive performance out of Savana Soltero, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ciara Madrid, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ALA - Anthem South only posted an OBP of .000.

Heritage Academy's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for ALA - Anthem South, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Heritage Academy will face off against Round Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for ALA - Anthem South, they have already played their next contest, a 21-4 defeat against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 3rd.
