Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Lenoir City's Fourth in Last Five Outings

While Lenoir City didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 47-39 victory over the Powell Panthers on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lenoir City also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Lenoir City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Powell, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Lenoir City will host Newport Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on December 26th. As for Powell, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Morristown-Hamblen West at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Morristown-Hamblen West will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Powell surely won't give up without a fight.
