Recap: Dominion Christian Eagles vs. Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles
Sadly, the Dominion Christian Eagles are still looking for their first win of the season after eight matchups. They were outmatched by Covenant Christian Academy on the road and fell 55-21. Dominion Christian was down 40-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
It was another big night for Gabriel Marvin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals for Covenant Christian Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Candland, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Something new happened on Friday as Benjamin Pavlak saw his first action of the season, playing 18 minutes against Dominion Christian. Pavlak made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points along with five steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Dominion Christian's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Covenant Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ad Fontes Academy the next time they take the court. Covenant Christian Academy will host Ad Fontes Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Dominion Christian will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
