Soccer Game Preview: Berwyn/Cicero Morton vs. Springfield

The Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs will square off against the Springfield Senators at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Addison Trail with a sharp 3-0 victory. Given Berwyn/Cicero Morton's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Addison Trail are ranked 132nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Springfield came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Spartans 7-0.

Springfield's offense was hitting Springfield Southeast from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Parker Hinds led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's win bumped their record up to 10-2-2. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1.
