Baseball Recap: Napoleon Drops Season-High Score on Wauseon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Napoleon). They blew past the Wauseon Indians 17-4 on Saturday. Considering the Wildcats have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Trausch was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five RBI and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Espinoza, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Napoleon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Wauseon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Napoleon will head out to take on Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.4, the Little Giants 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Wauseon, they will welcome Defiance at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
