Baseball Game Preview: Signal Mountain Eagles vs. Red Bank Lions

For the second straight game, Signal Mountain will face off against Red Bank. Signal Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Bank at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Signal Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Signal Mountain got the win against Red Bank by a conclusive 17-1. The Eagles have beaten the Lions the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Carter Gayton looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cash Keene, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Dotson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Signal Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Signal Mountain's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.75 hits in those games compared to only 5.25 in the others. As for Red Bank, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
