Gardner hadn't done well against Narragansett Regional recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Warriors 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Warriors since April 13, 2017.

Gardner has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Narragansett Regional, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Gardner will square off against Quabbin Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Narragansett Regional, they will venture away from home to square off against Tyngsborough at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
