Soccer Game Preview: St. Anne-Pacelli vs. Fulton Science Academy

The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings will square off against the Fulton Science Academy Mustangs on Saturday.

St. Anne-Pacelli is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Brookstone just ended the team's eight-match winning streak two weeks ago. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for St. Anne-Pacelli seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fulton Science Academy walked away with it. They never let the Gators get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for Fulton Science Academy, who have now won 11 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Bulloch Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ali Altekin, Ocean Lipscomb, and Joao Pasini De Souza.

The victory (which was Fulton Science Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matchups. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-4-1.

St. Anne-Pacelli came out on top in a nail-biter against Fulton Science Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
