Preview: Mariner vs. Dunbar
Mariner (2-4) is seven games into its season, but it hasn't met anyone harder than the team challenging it next. It and Dunbar (5-3) take on one another this Friday at 7:30 PM on Mariner's home turf. This could be a nice opportunity for Dunbar as Mariner has a 1-2 record at home.
Mariner and Lely were almost perfectly matched up last week, but Mariner suffered an agonizing 28 - 27 defeat.
As for Dunbar, it can now show off three landslide victories after its game last week. It took its contest against Cypress Lake last week by a conclusive 44 - 13 score. The game was close at halftime (13 - 6), but Dunbar broke away in the second half.
The last time they met, Dunbar was the clear winner with a 40 - 10 finish. Mariner couldn't get the same offensive movement going as Dunbar (296 yards compared to 126 yards), so it will surely be hoping to change that this time around. Will Mariner avenge its loss? We'll find out soon enough.
