Baseball Recap: Dearborn Comes Up Short

Churchill hit Dearborn with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers lost 10-2 to the Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 16-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Dearborn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Glenn Scurlock, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Dearborn has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Churchill, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6-1.

While Dearborn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
