Basketball Recap: Tyvon Jacobs Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Castle, Mississinewa was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Southwood Knights as the Mississinewa Indians made off with a 52-31 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mississinewa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyvon Jacobs, who posted 12 points and five boards. Rayveon Fetz was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Mississinewa was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Southwood's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Wilcox and Maddox Marshall. Wilcox put up ten points along with three steals and three blocks, while Marshall had nine points and four steals.

Mississinewa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Southwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Mississinewa will square off against Blackford at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Southwood, they will challenge Huntington North at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
