Softball Recap: Southampton Academy Raiders vs. Halifax Academy Vikings
Southampton Academy proved they can win big last Friday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Halifax Academy Vikings, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since April 18, 2024.
Dutchess Rose spent all 12 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audrey Sawyer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
