Preview: Mammoth Huskies vs. Rosamond Roadrunners
Mammoth is 0-6 against Rosamond since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mammoth Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Mammoth was able to grind out a solid victory over Desert, taking the game 61-53.
Mammoth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Jones led the charge by scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Kaiam Trabulsi was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Rosamond scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 87-53 victory over Desert. Winning may never get old, but Rosamond sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Rosamond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Pacheco, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Fabian Robles, who scored 17 points.
Mammoth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Rosamond, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Mammoth might still be hurting after the 77-57 defeat they got from Rosamond when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Mammoth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
