On Wednesday, Peabody faced Wossman in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Peabody Warhorses were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Wossman Wildcats. The Warhorses' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Peabody's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 25-5. As for Wossman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Franklin Parish the next time they take the court. Peabody will host Franklin Parish at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Wossman will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
