Football Recap: East Hartford Comes Up Short on the Road Against Norwalk

East Hartford had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 41-21 to the Norwalk Bears.

Despite the defeat, East Hartford had strong showings from Curtis Barber, who picked up 125 receiving yards and two scores, and Anthony Caravallo, who threw for 176 yards and three TDs. Barber really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

Easton Pace had a dynamite game For Norwalk., rushing for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 199 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes. Kevin Gordon was Pace's top target, picking up 138 receiving yards and one score.

East Hartford and Norwalk could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings. The Hornets will square off against Maloney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (67 vs. 19). Meanwhile, Norwalk (ranked 71st) will meet Greenwich (ranked third) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
