Basketball Game Preview: Oak Hill Rams vs. Hicks Pirates

Oak Hill and Hicks are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Oak Hill Rams will challenge the Hicks Pirates on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Hicks will be up against a hot Oak Hill squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Oak Hill claimed a resounding 67-17 victory over Monterey. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.

Jodie Jowers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylee Cedus, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Oak Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hicks had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past Family Community Christian 58-19. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Pirates this season.

Oak Hill's win bumped their record up to 28-10. As for Hicks, their victory bumped their record up to 15-21.

Oak Hill strolled past Hicks in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 59-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
