Baseball Recap: Miramonte's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Miramonte came into Wednesday's game having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Freedom Falcons 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Matadors have posted since May 2, 2024.

Miramonte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Hughes, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Hughes' first of the season.

Miramonte picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Miramonte wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Albany on the 7th. As for Freedom, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Las Lomas on the 3rd.
