Basketball Recap: Hampton Bays Baymen vs. Mount Sinai Mustangs
Hampton Bays lost against Mount Sinai last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hampton Bays Baymen were dealt a 77-15 defeat at the hands of the Mount Sinai Mustangs. The Baymen just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row dating back to last season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Sinai to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominic Pennzello, who posted 15 points and five steals. That's the most steals Pennzello has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brian Vales, who scored 16 points and three steals.
Hampton Bays' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Sinai, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Hampton Bays does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Sinai, they will head out on the road to take on Sayville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Sinai knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Sayville likes a good challenge.
