Monroe Area and Johnson are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Purple Hurricanes will take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Monroe Area, who comes in off a win.

Monroe Area will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating East Jackson, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Purple Hurricanes came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Purple Hurricanes as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Monroe Area not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept East Jackson to exactly 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Johnson came up short against Cedar Shoals on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cedar Shoals scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17.

Monroe Area's win bumped their record up to 14-27. As for Johnson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-22.

Monroe Area beat Johnson 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Purple Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
